AIR is the Bergos Artist-in-Residence program to support and develop the next generation of musicians and visual artists. Bergos AIR offers emerging artists in the field of contemporary musical and visual arts a much-needed opportunity to showcase their work, cultivate their artistic voice, develop their vision and thus support their careers at an early stage. It is the cultural Next Generation project of Bergos.
Bergos AIR was created to promote young talents. Therefore, the age limit is between 16 and 30 old. The candidate can directly apply for AIR or be nominated by a third party.
Creative excellence knows no borders. Thus, we accept applications from all over the world.
For admission to Bergos AIR, it is important that you have a good command of your artistic discipline. In addition, the originality of the art is an important decision criterion, i.e. the degree of recognition of the visual / musical art. We will take this from your submitted audio/image samples.
For Bergos, a high level of commitment to your artistic career is also crucial for admission to Bergos AIR, as Bergos would like to invest in your long-term artistic development. Accordingly, proof of your previous commitment includes performances / exhibitions, clear goals for the future or training in the respective field.
For the application you should convince the jury of your identity as an artist/musician. For this purpose, you have to submit a portfolio with audio or visual examples, which gives Bergos as good an insight as possible into your skills.
The application must be accompanied by a curriculum vitae. Public exposures and
scholarships or awards received should also be highlighted here. A letter of motivation is not required.
A classic letter of motivation is not required. However, in your email addressed to us, please describe in a few sentences what the program means to you, what you hope to gain from it, and why you are the right candidate for Bergos AIR.
