Can you tell us a bit more about your musical journey? What sparked your passion for music, and how has it evolved over time?
Since childhood, I loved singing gibberish and performing for my family. When my sister quit piano, I took over her lessons, sparking my passion for music. From learning guitar and joining the school band to writing my first songs at 13, music became my life. Eventually, I followed my dream to London to pursue it full-time.

How would you describe your music style, and what influences have shaped it?
I call it Indie-Soul/Pop—definitely pop, but not in the traditional sense. I grew up surrounded by my parents’ ‘70s and ‘80s music, from Earth, Wind & Fire and Aretha Franklin to Kool & The Gang and The Commodores. Our home was always filled with upbeat sounds.

In the early 2000s, I fell in love with the peak of pop music, but later discovered the deep, melancholic tones of artists like Ben Howard and Xavier Rudd, which truly moved me. Their singer-songwriter style inspired me to write my own songs – using music as a form of self-therapy to process life, emotions, and everything that comes with growing up.

How do you draw inspiration for your songs? Could you walk us through your writing process?
It really depends. Sometimes, writing a song isn’t a choice – it’s something I need to do to process life, like a form of self-therapy. Other times, I draw inspiration from observing people, stories I hear in the news, and trying to tell their stories.

My writing process varies. Sometimes, I start with lyrics and then build melodies, chords, and structure around them. Other times, I play guitar or piano, letting the music guide me to emotions I might be afraid to say out loud – so instead, I sing them. Some songs come together in an hour, while others take months or even years to fully unfold.

What are your dreams for your music career, and what do you aim to achieve this year with the support from the Bergos AIR Program?
My ultimate dream is to build a sustainable career in music—performing, writing, and collaborating with other creatives. I aspire to play both grand stages and intimate venues, as each offers unique and unforgettable moments. Above all, I want to keep evolving as an artist.

With the support of the Bergos AIR Program, I hope to explore new sounds, experiment with different styles in studio sessions, and collaborate with inspiring musicians. Expanding my network and immersing myself in new creative environments would be invaluable in shaping my musical journey this year.
